Freedmen vs Cherokee Nation

Problem is Frank only wants to enforce that part of the 1866 Treaty that pertains to the Freedmen...the other provisions of the treaty are not enforced and are probably considered outdated by Congress EXCEPT this provision about the Freedmen which CBC wants to enforce...the Freedmen can get the same benefits from the State of Oklahoma that they get from the Cherokee Nation. Ya'll need to wait for the court case or maybe they don't have any faith in the Federal Courts, so they're pushing this Freedmen provision of the 1866 Treaty... And it's the only provision they're trying to enforce, the other provisions have long since been forgotten.... Reality is: the Freedmen are NOT Cherokee! and we have another biased enforcement of a treaty to the detriment of the Cherokee Nation. This is a case of "we've got our minds made up so don't bother us with the facts". The reality is: it's a power struggle headed by the Congressional Black Caucus . Frank sid...

This is reaching the level of really silliness and is just plain absurd, this type of conduct isn't even REASONABLE - first housing now health care ...the Freedmen are on the Cherokee roster and are now receiving the very Cherokee health care that the Congressional Black Caucus wants to stop in this bill...is anyone checking for consistency on any of this... no mention of doing this to the CA tribes that are dis enrolling people like crazy - Interesting that the full force and furry of the CBC is aimed directly at the Cherokee Nation and an outdated 1866 Treaty. The CBC's conduct appears to be a no confidence statement on the outcome of the court case. The CBC needs to wait and see how the courts interpret an 1866 treaty, it might be that the Freedmen along with the Cherokees at that time received all the benefits that the treaty intended, they all got land, there wasn't any Indian Health Care or Housing or Tribal Memberships back then... This is just an example of what is happening all over the U.S. where groups of self proclaimed *tribes* and groups are springing up, unfettered apparently by Congress...but Congresswoman Watson prefers to pursue the Federal Recognized Cherokee Nation; so how come the CBC isn't in pursuit of these folks?
